I help people manage chronic illness in ways that work best for their unique lifestyle.
I believe chronic illness should be managed in the least burdensome way possible. My highest goal is to help people by reducing healthcare noise and information overwhelm while eliminating false promises and disease and/or weight bias.
As a registered nurse for over thirty years and a person living with several chronic illnesses, I KNOW there needs to be space for people just like you, a space that is quiet, where the focus is on you as an individual, a space where you're accepted exactly as you are, a space where you can learn at your own pace, and a space where you can just be with your own thoughts.
In the meantime, I will be here, holding this space with you until you are ready to move in whatever direction you choose.
My specific areas of expertise: Heart health, type 2 diabetes, managing blood pressure and cholesterol, and the mindfulness practice that surrounds creating sustainable change. I support you as you create your plan for managing your chronic illness in a way that fits with your individual lifestyle.
Simply put, this website, The Chronic Illness Lounge, and/or Lisa Trogdon do NOT offer medical advice and nothing written here should ever be used as a substitute for the care and advice of your healthcare professional. I am not a medical doctor and I do not provide medical advice, or make any guarantee or promise that you will become free from diseases or conditions now or in the future. This practice is based on evidence-based health coaching principles (I am certified through the American Council on Exercise), and is not a registered nursing practice. Never delay seeing a healthcare provider for any medical condition and allow them to work with you to create your medical plan of care. Thank you!
